BREAKING Huge fire tears through Blackpool town centre beauty salon - live updates
Huge plumes of smoke can be seen filling the high street following the fire, which is believed to have taken hold in a beauty salon. Shoppers are being advised to avoid the area.
There are currently six fire engines in attendance and roads in the area around Church Street have been closed off.Images from the scene show huge flames coming from the building. Smoke can be seen throughout the seaside town. Residents are advised to keep all windows and doors shut while fire crews tackle the blaze and bring it under control.A statement from Lancashire Fire and Rescue reads: "At 13:40 on the 26th December 2022, six fire engines from Blackpool, South Shore, Bispham, St Anne's and Fleetwood attended a commercial property fire on Church Street, Blackpool.
"Firefighters are wearing breathing apparatus and are using two hose reel jets and two hose reels to extinguish the fire. Crews remain in attendance."
