Huawei reportedly overtakes Qualcomm as China's top semiconductor player for the first time
Huawei's HiSilicon chip design unit shipped more smartphone semiconductors in China than Qualcomm in the first quarter of 2020 for the first time ever, according to a new research report.

HiSilicon designs chips under the Kirin brand which go into Huawei's smartphones. The semiconductors are manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company .
