However, the health-adjusted life expectancy — a measure of how many healthy years we have left — averages just 69.7. Numbers also differ by province. Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador are tied for the lowest life expectancy at 79.9 years, while Quebecers are Canada’s longest-living with an average 82.6 years. Ontario is close behind with an average 82.3 years.
That said, Canada fared better than some its allies like the States, partly due to its vaccination efforts. Its populace are 82.3 per cent vaccinated, ranking seventh among the most vaccinated countries in the world. The OECD average is 73.5 per cent; the U.S. sits at 68.5 per cent.
