News of the burglary was revealed on November 18, after occurring the month prior on October 13. While Adelaide Cottage—where William and Middleton reside with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—was left untouched, Shaw Farm on the Windsor Castle estate was targeted for farm equipment, and the intruders managed to leave the property undetected.
Another royal expert, Neil Sean, further explained that "William and Catherine were in no danger whatsoever, but a source pointed out to me the situation could’ve had a far more sinister turn." He explained that "the fact that got so far inside Windsor grounds was very alarming, particularly for William. Naturally, is worried about any stress and concern about his wife, and of course, his father .
After news of the burglary made the rounds on November 18, Thames Valley Police, which is in charge of security in the Windsor Castle area, confirmed the event in a statement to. “At around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, we received a report of burglary at a property on Crown Estate land near to the A308 in Windsor. Offenders entered a farm building and made off with a black Isuzu pick-up and a red quad bike. They then made off towards the Old Windsor/Datchet area," the statement read.
