“There’s laughter everywhere, all the time,” Ng, 58, said. “Making new friends, laughing, having fun and sharing food. That’s the type of thing you will see in the studio.” “Interestingly, it crosses genders. It wasn’t just women who were doing this. There were lots of men and there are still lots of men who really see this as their creative outlet,” Kwan said."So it was a real opportunity to break from all the professional and familial obligations and do something for themselves and also literally to peacock, to shine.”
“The body and movement of the body as a collective can be a sense of belonging, a sense of purpose, a sense of connectedness, in the face of histories of trauma or histories of war and histories of violence,” Yep said.
