LaMelo Ball left a preseason game on Monday with an ankle injury and is expected to miss the start of the regular season with a Grade 2 sprain, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports.

"His return to full basketball activities will be determined by his response to rehab and treatment and further updates on his status will be provided as appropriate,"A Grade 2 sprain is considered a moderate sprain with a partial ligament tear on a scale of 1 to 3.
