The Rail Delivery Group said it's ‘working towards’ a revised offer after months of industrial action that have caused chaos on the network.

The Rail Delivery Group , which represents operators, said it was now ‘working towards’ a revised offer after months of industrial action that have caused chaos on the network. There will be further talks in the coming days.

It follows reports that train firms are ready to up their pay offer from eight per cent over two years to ten per cent. They are also said to be watering down demands for more driver-only-operated trains. RMT boss Mick Lynch, who has vowed to ‘never’ accept the removal of all guards on services, said: ‘We have been in detailed discussions… are working jointly towards a revised offer for their section of the dispute.

‘We’ve agreed that, over the next couple of days, we’ll continue to work on that through discussions, and we’ll see what comes of it.’ Asked if proposals were different from previous ones, Mr Lynch said there was no new formal offer as yet, ‘so we’ll leave it for another day’. The RDG said: ‘We have had detailed discussions and we are working jointly towards a revised offer. Both parties have agreed to continue discussions.’
