Honor's latest Windows 11, the MagicBook View 14 takes on the ultrabook market with a fashionable and powerful laptop.
It helps that the Honor has chose a 3:2 ratio screen which gives a lot more working space than the 16:9 focused gaming and leisure laptops.W with Microsoft’s new-found love of tiling windows to offer multitasking on a single screen, this ratio works especially well. The screen itself is an expansive 14.2 inches, running at a 90 Hz refresh with a resolution of 2520x1680. Color reproduction is excellent, although the glossy nature of the screen can make for some awkward reflections.
The webcam also supports Windows Hello, Microsfot’s facial recognition system to speed up the unlocking of the laptop, and Honor also supports fingering recognition with a sensor built into the power key on the top right of the keyboard.The MagicBook is clearly a laptop styled for the ultraportables range - the slim nature of the design gives that away. But in case you missed that the other clue is having just two ports on either side of the laptop.
One thing the MagicBook is lacking is bloat. Although Microsoft has a rather long list of default apps that ship with Windows 11 - apps that are going to be there no matter the laptop you buy - Honor has added very little software to the package.
