A standoff between Hong Kong protesters and police raged for more than 24 hours at a university, as skirmishes broke out elsewhere in the city
At around 1:30 p.m. Monday, dozens of black-clad protesters jumped railings and tried to flee the Hong Kong Polytechnic University campus where the standoff took place, but police fired tear gas, pepper bullets and water cannon at them, driving many back.
