Shelton took to opportunity to rag on his girlfriend, who said she was saving her team's last spot for a girl. "I keep hearing, ‘I only have one spot left and I was waiting for a girl.' I only had one spot left on my team too and I was waiting for a duo. I was waiting for a femaleduo and all of a sudden there you were. And I want to give my female twin duo spot that I was holding to you," the country superstar joked.
"Listen man, I have coached the winner of this show six times and only a handful of them were country artists," Shelton continued on a more serious note. "It doesn’t matter what lane your coach is in, it’s what lane your coach can put you in." McQueen then revealed a prophecy that was fulfilled. "My sister and my grandmother had a dream that this coach turned around for me and that person is Blake Shelton," he explained before ultimately picking the country star as his coach.
