SAN JOSE — San Jose Sharks coach Peter DeBoer seemed somewhat startled that he was being asked about Tomas Hertl’s mini-slump prior to this pivotal contest.
Hertl buried the would-be winner at 6:26 of the third, parking at the door-step, outmuscling Avalanche superstar Nathan MacKinnon and tucking a backhander.Across the NHL, Couture is the only guy who has tickled more twine during the 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs. “Playoffs, you can’t think about what happened the last game. You have to just be looking forward and try to step it up, and I think I did a pretty good job. I pushed a little bit myself, be a little bit stronger on the power-play, P.K., all over the ice. I think it was better, but I have to help the team again next game.”
