WASHINGTON - Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain said he will face a “cumbersome” process as he is vetted for a seat on the Federal Reserve Board.
The 73-year-old said it was not clear if he will pass the ongoing FBI background check, a standard practice before a high-ranking nomination. Cain’s nomination would need to be approved by the U.S. Senate. “They have to collect an inordinate amount of information on you, your background, your family, your friends, your animals, your pets, for the last 50 years,” Cain said.
