⚠️Heavy rain in the wake of Storm Claudio caused early morning travel chaos across London and south east England with 24 flood alerts still in place.
Several train services on the Southern rail network have been cancelled or delayed due to flooding and debris. Southern said that customers can use their tickets on London Buses at no extra cost.Commuter Martha Roberts had to find an alternative route to work after flooding on the District line.
“We are being encouraged to use public transport but today’s chaos goes to show how underinvestment in roads, public transport and, it would seem, drainage shows this simply doesn’t work if one ‘constant’ like wet British weather can grind everything to a halt,” Roberts added.
