More than 90-degree weather will continue through at least the first half of the weekend, forecasters said.
Forecasters are continuing to urge central Pennsylvanians to limit outdoor activity amid extremely hot weather that will likely last at least one more day.
A heat advisory in effect until 8 p.m. Friday said temperatures will reach nearly 100, and the heat index could peak at up to 105. The hot temperatures and high humidity, which started on Thursday, could lead to heat-related illnesses again on Friday, theForecasters said central Pennsylvanians should reschedule strenuous outdoor activities for the early morning or evening, and wear light, loose-fitting clothing if they do go outside.
Showers, storms, and gusty winds could move into the area after 3 a.m. Saturday, forecasters said. The rain will let up before sunrise, but forecasters said it will likely return after 2 p.m. Saturday. The second set of storms could last until about 8 p.m.Forecasters said Sunday will be sunny, except for a slight chance of showers between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Temperatures will likely fall back into the low 80s on Sunday.
