A WSJ investigation finds nine customer testimonials on uBiome’s website featuring images that can be found on other websites or are available from online collections of stock photos

On its website, lab-testing company uBiome Inc. features a photo of a man offering a testimonial for one of its tests. “After using SmartGut, I realized that a lot of my immunity issues stemmed from the lack of bacteria in my microbiome,” reads a quote under the photo.

The same man’s photo appears on numerous websites, including the Magnus Search Recruitment agency website. That site identifies the photo as “Jonathan” from Camden, who touts “the lengths that Matt and the guys went to secure me a great position.”
