HBO Max's upcoming Harry Potter series is officially moving forward with pre-production underway, including casting calls for young actors to portray the iconic trio. While production start date remains unclear, the show's launch is expected in late 2026 or 2027.
and Max Content. In an interview with Deadline, Bloys revealed that pre-production on the series has begun, with writing and casting underway.
“Writers have started. Mark Mylod has started,” Bloys said. “The team, they’re hiring department heads, casting, and we’re off.”in the UK to find the next Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger. The casting call mentioned that the actors must be between ages 9 and 11 in spring 2025. However, that date does not signal the start of production.
