Meghan Markle and Prince Harry watched Queen Elizabeth II's special broadcast online from their new home in Los Angeles.
. A source confirms that Harry spoke to his grandmother at the end of last week “to offer his support ahead of the broadcast.”
Sunday’s speech was just the fifth special televised address, other than her Christmas messages, during the queen’s 68-year reign. As she thanked National Health Service staff and key workers, she also emphasized the important role individuals must play. “While we have faced challenges before, this one is different,” the 93-year-old said. “This time we join with all nations across the globe in a common endeavor, using the great advances of science and our instinctive compassion to heal. We will succeed—and that success will belong to every one of us.”
