To help encourage more smile cookies be sold, an event was put together inviting local public officials to take part in adding the frosting to the cookies at the Tim Hortons’ location on 470 Dundas St. E in Belleville.
For the Belleville area, 100 per cent of proceeds go to to the Belleville General Hospital Foundation to help purchase a Diagnostic Ultrasound Machine. “It’s so important to have one of the new machines because as the population slowly ages, they’re going to need more of that type of medical assistance,” owner Mark Hanley tells media.He says its great to see the community show their support.“We’re just the conduit here, the in between and so to see the community support the community is really amazing.”“We still have three days to go so we’re really excited about how far we can push that and how successful we can see we can be.” Hanley said.
Government officials in attendance included Belleville Mayor Neil Ellis and Bay of Quinte MPP Todd Smith.
