The Half Moon Bay mass shooting suspect is set to appear in a Redwood City courtroom today for a plea hearing.
Chunli Zhao, 66, is charged with multiple counts of first-degree murder after he allegedly shot and killed seven co-workers at two mushroom farms on Jan. 23. One other person was shot but survived.
Zhao, during an exclusive jailhouse interview with NBC Bay Area, admitted to carrying out the shootings, saying he endured years of co-workers' bullying and that he wasn't in his right mind that day.

Fortesue sees costs riseIron-ore major Fortescue Metals on Wednesday reported a 4% fall in revenue for the half-year ended December, despite iron-ore shipments in the first half of the yar reaching a record 96.9-million tonnes, a 4% increase on the previous corresponding period. Revenue for the first half of the 2023 financial year was reported at A$7.8-billion, with underlying earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation also falling 9% in the same period, to A$4.3-billion. Net profits after tax fell by 15% in the half year, to A$2.3-billion.
