John Davenport/San Antonio Express-NewsH-E-B employees and volunteers will distribute 5,000 holiday meals at Delmar Stadium this Saturday as part of the grocery chain's efforts to fight food insecurity.
Between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on December 3, cars can drive through the stadium to receive four hot holiday meals and a box of non-perishable holiday food until supplies run out. H-E-B plans to host 34 Feast of Sharing events throughout Texas and Mexico over the course of the holiday season, distributing more than 340,000 meals in total, the company said in a statement.
The annual series of events has been going on since 1982, and a total 375,000 volunteers have served nearly four million meals in the years since then, according to H-E-B.
