Burnaby RCMP said they got two reports in quick succession about what residents thought were up to nine gunshots in the area east of Burnaby Heights Park at 12:30 a.m. Friday.

Mike Kalanj.They told police they heard what they thought were gunshots but no yelling, car tires screeching or other disturbance, according to Kalanj.
He said the fireworks were still warm and the cardboard still dry when the officer found them, despite it having been a rainy night.
