The 43-year-old victim wasn’t injured and his car was later found abandoned, but police are still searching for the suspects.
Officers were called to the 1100 block of South Arlington Street in the Firestone Park neighborhood at about 3:45 a.m. Saturday, police say. The victim tells police he was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot of a business on Triplett Avenue when the two suspects approached. The two men reportedly got inside the vehicle at gunpoint, pushing the victim into the passenger’s seat.
After being forced to withdraw money from an ATM, the victim was let out of the vehicle near South Arlington Street and Triplett Boulevard. The suspects drove off in the vehicle, which was found at about 11:40 a.m. Saturday on the 1100 block of Reed Avenue in East Akron. Anyone with information can call police at 330-375-2490 or Summit County Crimestoppers at 330-434-COPS. Individuals also can send tips by texting TIPSCO to 274637. People offering tips can remain anonymous.
