Two “unintended targets” eating at a restaurant in Humboldt Park were shot Friday night, after a gunman opened fire intending to shoot his ex-girlfriend. One of the victims, a 50-year-old Berwyn man, did not survive.

Two “unintended targets” inside a Columbian food restaurant were shot Friday night in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.The 50-year-old Berwyn man was inside Curramba restaurant, 2701 W. Division St., about 9:45 p.m. when the gunman drove past, looking for his ex-girlfriend, who was standing outside smoking, according to a police report.

When he opened fire from the car, one round went into the neck of the Berywn man while a second round grazed the index finger of a 40-year-old woman, also inside the restaurant, according to the report.The victim, whose identity has not been officially released, was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The ex-girlfriend, who witnessed the attack, gave police the alleged shooter’s name and police found him a short time later at Augusta Boulevard and Homan Avenue, where he was in a traffic crash. Officers arrested him after he exited the car and hurled a gun to the curb, the report said.The most recent deadly shooting happened shortly before 2:50 a.m. Saturday in the 2900 block of South Poplar Avenue in the Bridgeport neighborhood.

Shortly after 7:15 p.m. Friday, a 65-year-old man was shot in the front area of a residence in the 400 block of North Hamlin Avenue in the East Garfield Park neighborhood.The man was initially taken in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the chest to Mount Sinai Hospital, but he was later pronounced dead there, police said.

He was later identified as Randal Wilson of the same block as he was fatally wounded, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
