Noah Syndergaard was not happy with Wednesday's start against the Reds.
“It feels like I’m pitching on ice skates,” said Syndergaard, after the game. “Every time I try to use my legs, they slip out from underneath me ... I don’t know.”“I had some issue gripping the ball tonight,” he said. “Not necessarily with my my middle finger and pointer finger, but just having ball security on the other side of my ring finger.
“Even in the starts when I do have success, it’s still like conviction,” said Syndergaard. “I’m able to throw strikes, but sometimes I’m not very confident in that pitch.” “When Noah came over here, he was getting a lot of thoughts ,” said manager Terry Francona. “When he talked, you could tell he was trying to process a lot. Carl was like, ‘OK, let’s be as athletic as you can on the mound, and we’ll go from there.”
