In addition to Gimenez's extension, right-hander Trevor Stephan signed a four-year extension with two club options worth $10 million.
Gimenez is coming off a season in which he made the All-Star team and won a Gold Glove. He hit .297 with 17 homers, 69 RBI and 20 steals in 23 attempts.2023: $4 million signing bonus, $1 million in salary; $5 million in 2024; $10 million in 2025; $15 million in 2026; $23 million in 2027; $23 million in 2028; and $23 million in 2029. The club option for 2030 can fluctuate from $23 million to $24 million depending on incentives. The option has a $2.5 million buyout as well.
Stephan appeared in 66 games for Cleveland’s pen last year. He led the pen with 82 strikeouts, while going 6-5 with a 2.69 ERA.Here’s the breakdown on the Stephan extension: $1.35 million in 2023; $1.6 million in 2024; $2.3 million in 2025; and $3.5 million in 2026. The 2027 club option can range from $7.25 million to $8.25 million depending on incentives. The 2028 club option is worth $7.5 million to $8.50 million.
