chatted with Bernstein about the inspiration behind her Instagram account and how current fashion trends inform her creative process.I launched the account in January 2018. My inspiration came more out of necessity. I had just started a new job and my Photoshop knowledge needed some brushing up. I was having another restless night, and turned on. From what I remember, I was in the middle of the sorting-hat scene when the idea for @gryffindior came to mind.
And in fairness, gives Harry Potter a reason to not want to wear his invisibility cloak.:There’s a really nice overlap between the world of Harry Potter and high fashion. To me, both are rooted in the world of fantasy. When you experience a show like Dior or Chanel or Saint Laurent, you can be transported to a magical place. When I’m working on a post, sometimes I’m even surprised at how well the two align.I make the posts in my spare time, so it’s whenever my schedule allows.
