MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Rockets would take on everything the Grizzlies could throw at them, somehow scoring their way to stay on their opponent’s heels, even briefly in front, down to the closing minutes.
The Grizzlies went back to Jackson, as they had all night, but he made one of two free throws, as the Rockets’ Alperen Sengun had moments earlier. Bane scored on drives with the Grizzlies’ next two possessions, opening a seven-point lead with a 13-5, four-minute run. By then, the Rockets had to foul to stop the clock, and Bane made his free throws to score 11 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter.
