Greta Gerwig is rebooting The Chronicles of Narnia for Netflix. From Saoirse Ronan to Timothée Chalamet, which of her regular players should be cast?

Greta Gerwig is rebooting The Chronicles of Narnia franchise for Netflix, and some of her regular collaborators would be perfect casting choices to play C.S. Lewis’ iconic literary characters. Following her work on Barbie, one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2023, Gerwig is leaving behind her roots in small-scale dramas like Lady Bird and Little Women and moving into big-budget blockbuster territory.

10 Timothée Chalamet As Mr. Tumnus Timothée Chalamet brought his broody brand of pathos and movie-star charisma to love interest roles in Lady Bird and Little Women: he played pompous bookworm Kyle Scheible in Lady Bird and the handsome, charming Theodore “Laurie” Laurence in Little Women. The best role for Chalamet in The Chronicles of Narnia would be Mr. Tumnus.

7 Bob Odenkirk As Mr. Beaver Bob Odenkirk was a revered figure in the comedy world before Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul highlighted his abilities as a dramatic actor. Gerwig cast Odenkirk to play the small but crucial role of Father March in the Little Women cast. After he stole his scenes in Little Women, it would be a no-brainer to cast Odenkirk in The Chronicles of Narnia reboot.

4 Tracy Letts As Professor Digory Kirke Professor Digory Kirke acts as a father figure to the Pevensie children when they’re evacuated and sent to stay with him during the war. Out of Gerwig’s company of actors, Tracy Letts would be the ideal choice to play the Professor. Letts gave a stern, understated performance as Jo’s grumpy editor Mr. Dashwood in Little Women, but he played a much warmer, friendly character in Gerwig’s previous movie.
