Greater Manchester postcodes due second DWP Cold Weather Payment as cold snap continues
A second £25 Cold Weather Payment will be sent to households across Greater Manchester as the cold snap continues. Cold Weather Payments are made when temperatures are recorded, or forecast, to be 0C or below for seven consecutive days.
So far this winter, the scheme from the Department of Work and Pensions has been triggered twice. Last week, it was revealed that hundreds of households across the region would be eligible for the payment for December 5 to December 11, and now the DWP has confirmed that a second payment will be sent out for the period of December 12 to December 18.People on certain DWP benefits are eligible for the payments.
