RS Recommends: Grateful Dead unveil ‘eco-minded’ footwear collab with Sanuk, with tie-dye sneakers and logo-embossed sandals made from upcycled materials
Because they’re built on Sanuk best-sellers, the new Grateful Deal x Sanuk sandals and sneakers are ideal for laid-back weekends, casual hikes or beach days. As expected from the California brand, the pieces’ build quality is top-notch, and they’ll likely become even more comfortable with wear.
As the fifth release from Sanuk and the Grateful Dead, this is the most sustainable collection yet, “diverting waste and giving stylish new life to stuff that’s otherwise discarded,” according to Sanuk. All three pieces use eco-minded materials throughout, such as recycled polyester, rubber and EVA foam, as well as bio-based jute weave, repurposed suede and responsibly-sourced leather.
