TikToker shares grandma's 50p hack to keep clothes smelling fresh 'for 20 years'
A woman has shared her grandma's easy hack for keeping clothes smelling fresh in drawers - and it works for "15 to 20 years". There's no need for expensive washing power - the simple trick costs as little as 50p.
When she asked why there was a wrapped bar of soap in every drawer, her grandma said they keep her garments fresh, reported The Mirror. The video, which can be viewed below, has more than 623,000 views and hundreds of shares as TikTokers praised the idea.In the 30-second clip, Julia said: "Did anyone else rip out those magazine fragrance testers and shove them in your drawers to keep your clothes smelling nice? I did, up until a few months ago.
"Apparently, if you take a nice, neutral, wrapped bar of soap - this one is lavender but you can use cotton or whatever - it'll last 15 to 20 years. I had no idea, but I tried it out for a few months and it's amazing. My clothes smell amazing. Definitely give it a go." In the comments on the post, Julie pointed out that the tip works best if the soap is in paper wrapping, as the scent will be more noticeable than a boxed or plastic wrapped bar. Many people praised the hack, with one writing: "This is such a cool idea!"
