Wright testifies he found Sweeney’s body, but didn’t kill her On trial for the second-degree murder of Renée Sweeney, the accused took the stand in his own defense March 13. Robert Steven “Steve” Wright testified today that he was at the video store on Jan. 27, 1998, but that he did not kill Sweeney, who was stabbed 27 times and bled to death. Sweeney was working at the store, which was located in a plaza at 1500 Paris Street.

All OPP cruisers now have plate recognition The North East Region of the OPP has now installed and activated the Automated Licence Plate Recognition and In-Car-Camera systems in all patrol vehicles. The OPP is introducing ICC video recording equipment with integrated ALPR functionality to all its frontline police vehicles at all detachments.

Now she’s all grown up and writing her own original music. Rose recently put out an alternative rock track called “Break these Chains.” Rose said the song is about breaking through restrictions and ignoring what other people think.
