The protocol states that even if there is foreign interference which does impact the overall integrity of the election, this information can also be withheld for reasons of national security. The Trudeau government ignored a recommendation from its own adviser, James Judd, who assessed the performance of the protocol after the 2019 election, that the time frame be extended to the run-up period before the election.Obviously, that makes sense because if a foreign power like China, Russia or Iran is going to interfere in our elections, their plans will be underway long before the day the election is called.
That’s absurd.
