Giles Wood and Mary Killen can’t believe how famous Gogglebox is around the world.
Thanks to the success of the show, the much-loved couple have become global stars and are now recognised wherever they go.
But with offers flying in left, right and centre for Giles and Mary, what does that mean for their Gogglebox future? ‘People come up to us and say, “We love you on Gogglebox”. We get recognised even when we’re abroad,’ Mary said. ‘It’s happened in Italy, Belgium and Australia. It’s surprising. And it’s people from all walks of life.’that it’s ‘surreal’ how the show has reached households around the world, with some even watching it illegally.On why exactly they’ve been a hit with fans of the Channel 4 show, Giles added: ‘People enjoy my humour. They like it when sparks fly. Marriage is a contrast – it’s a meeting of opposites.
‘All sorts of people come up to us and say we’re their favourites on the show. But they probably say that to all of the cast.’So, with such a devoted fan base, that means Giles and Mary are staying put, right?Who doesn’t love Jenny and Lee with their caravan antics? Giles and Mary – who are known for calling each other ‘Nutty’ – star on Gogglebox alongside other comedic duos.
