Because of that, most moviegoers are familiar with all of Godzilla's powers and abilities as a defender of Earth .
The show is seemingly placing an emphasis on that very opportunity, even casting Kurt and Wyatt Russell as younger and older versions of the same character whose role will be explored over multiple decades. As fun as giant monster fighting is, expanding upon human characters can help provide a fresh perspective on humanity's role in a world dominated by the god-like Titans.
