The new restaurant spans over three levels and includes a traditional izakaya-style private dining area
A popular Japanese restaurant, which has won over fans with its incredible ramen, has announced it is set to open a second eatery in Glasgow.
The new restaurant, which spans over three levels and includes a traditional izakaya-style private dining area, has transformed the former Alchemilla site on Argyle Street into a late night Yōkochō style eating and drinking alley, like the ones you would find in the back streets of Tokyo. Inside, a selection of vintage enamel signs and light boxes have been sourced from Japan, reminiscent of the Shōwa era, with the Ramen Dayo team stating that the neon signs will light up every corner of the restaurant, adding to the "downtown feel".
The opening food menu will be the same as Ramen Dayo’s sister restaurant on Ashton Lane, with regular specials and seasonal menu rotation to follow. The nine-strong ramen menu will sit alongside a selection of rice bowls, sides, gyozas and homemade Japanese sweet treats and desserts.
