A price tag of £100,000 has been placed on the property, which sits beneath a railway line.
MacKinnons in the Gallowgate has been serving beers with breakfast for generations although there has been a pub on the site for hundreds of years, dating all the way back to 1815 - the same year the Napoleonic Wars ended.
In the 1880’s, it was known throughout the city as the Royal Military Rendezvous, where old soldiers gathered to reminisce about their time in the army.More recently, it has been a popular spot for Celtic fans, who pass by on their way to Parkhead on match days. A price tag of £100,000 has been placed on the property, which sits beneath a railway line, with the early morning licence transferable to new owners.
A spokesman for selling agents CCL property said:”This is one of only the few remaining early licences left in Glasgow. “Originally intended for transport workers and dockers coming off night shift, it allowed them to have a drink and breakfast before carrying on with their day.”A spokesman for the city’s Licensing Board said: “No applications are currently pending in relation to these premises.
