Lev Parnas, a former associate of Rudy Giuliani who was tasked with digging up dirt on now-President Joe Biden and his family ahead of 2020, wrote to GOPoversight Chairman JamesComer urging him to drop his investigation into Hunter Biden.
In the 10-page letter, which was obtained by the Washington Examiner, Parnas said there is “simply no merit” in investigating the Bidens and their connection to Ukraine any further.“Please abandon this effort to investigate the Bidens, which is nothing more than a wild goose chase, and let our elected officials return to the issue at hand of uniting our great country to be stronger and better than ever before,” Parnas wrote.
Comer has alleged that Hunter Biden and then-Vice President Joe Biden were involved in a $5 million foreign bribery scheme with the head of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company where Hunter Biden sat on the board. The claims come from an unverified FBI-generated FD-1023 tip sheet written by a paid FBI informant.
Even after every stone they turned over showed no criminal wrongdoing, Parnas said Giuliani was adamant about finding some evidence of wrongdoing by the Bidens.
