ex-officer James Brennand has been indicted on multiple counts in connection with the shooting of CantuThe indictment includes two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon by a peace officer and one count of attempted murder. One of the counts of aggravated assault and the count of attempted murder relate to Cantu, while the other count of aggravated assault relates to Proulx.
Proulx was in Cantu’s car on Oct. 2, when Brennand approached the vehicle about 10:45 p.m. while it was parked outside the McDonald’s in the 11700 block of Blanco Road. Brennand, who was there in response to a disturbance that Cantu was not involved in, spotted Cantu’s car and recognized it as one that had
