The reimagining of the 1984 classic is almost here. Tagline: 'A toxic world deserves a toxic hero.'
In the movie, Gooze is a health club janitor who takes on his superhero identity after a fall into a vat of toxic waste. The setup mirrors the original film, in which Melvin Ferd Junko III , a janitor at a gym, is mercilessly bullied and transforms into Toxie after falling into toxic waste.
Dinklage’s character holds a glowing green mop in the first-look image from the film, echoing Toxie’s famous mop. But there are also many differences, which is why this “Toxic Avenger” is more reimagining than remake. In this telling, Winston, faced with terminal illness, fights back against corruption involving health insurance. He also has a son.
