Germany's Natalie Geisenberger won her third gold medal in women's luge for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Here's what to know about the final races.
Geisenberger is the greatest female luger on the planet for the third year in a rowwhen she picked it up as a child, has officially clinched her third gold medal in the sliding sport.
Geisenberger finished with a score of 3:53.454 in women's singles on Tuesday at the 2022 Winter Games to take home her third medal. Germany’s Anna Berreiter secured the silver, scoring 3:53.947, and the ROC’s Tatyana Ivanova took bronze, scoring 3:54.507. Falling short of top three, but ranking top five, were Austria’s Madeleine Egle and Hannah Prock. Lisa Schulte snagged the sixth spot for Austria, as well.
Leading into the third run, Geisenberger held first, Berreiter second, Ivanova third, Prock fourth and Schulte fifth. Two-time defending gold medalist, Geisenberger, is the best we’ve ever seen.
