“Swagger,” O’Shea Jackson Jr.'s Apple TV Plus drama series inspired by the experiences of NBA star Kevin Durant, has a premiere date.
The American Ferrera-produced Latinx dramedy series follows three cousins who unite to keep their grandfather’s popular taco shop open amid rising gentrification in their Boyle Heights neighborhood.
In addition to Ferrera, “Gentefied” is executive produced by Marvin Lemus, Linda Yvette Chávez, Charles D. King, Marta Fernandez of MACRO, Ferrera of Take Fountain, Aaliyah Williams, Kim Roth and Teri Weinberg of Yellow Brick Road.Apple TV Plus announced that upcoming drama “Swagger” will premiere on Oct. 29 with its first three episodes. The following seven episodes will debut weekly on Fridays. The series, inspired by the experiences of NBA player Kevin Durant, stars O’Shea Jackson Jr.
YouTube Originals announced that upcoming competition series “#1 Chicken” will premiere on Sept. 22. YouTuber Brian “Faze Rug” Awadis will host as eight digital creators complete one “Chicken Challenge” per episode to see who can handle different creatures, heights and more. Instead of the loser being eliminated, each challenge’s winner will get to go home, avoiding the future challenges and making the last player standing the “#1 Chicken.
