Macdonald wasted no time in making his mark on everything, from Pete Carroll’s motivational signs to the much beloved basketball hoop.
“The biggest difference is: No basketball hoop,” said Tyler Lockett when speaking to reporters at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center on Wednesday, according to Gregg Bell of the News Tribune. Insignificant as this may sound, this is only one of the many changes that Mike Macdonald has already implemented as the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks.
Smith went on to stress that he has experienced this before in his time with the New York Jets, and that it is important to get buy-in from the roster. Lockett elaborated on this, going on to speak to building social capital between coaches and players. Uchenna Nwosu provided a few solid — and honest — quotes about Macdonald’s style, noting that he has “loosened up,” recently.
