Good news, BeaconPines fans, new content is on the way — we've talked to Hiding Spot Games' Matt Meyer about what to expect with the update... hidingspotgames
, and if you're sad to have finished up your time with it, never fear: new free content is on the way, and we might have an extra achievement to earn too.The new memory scene for Beacon Pines adds a new cooking mini-game. Beacon Pines' story is shrouded in mystery and this new content sounded just as intriguing, so we reached out to Hiding Spot Games for more information, with lead designer and creative director Matt Meyer having been kind enough to answer our questions.
"The new memory is in the same vein as the fishing memory that exists in the game," Meyer says."Instead of Luka fishing at the pond with his dad, it's a memory of him helping out his mom in the Last Chance Diner. As with the first memory, Luka is younger and smaller. The memory contains a cooking mini-game. In the diner, the player will take orders from familiar characters.
We asked Meyer what new content might mean for the Beacon Pines achievements — would any more be added with the update?"The hope is to add one more achievement, to be given when the player satisfies all customer orders in the cooking mini-game. Whether or not that achievement makes it in will depend on the logistics of adding post-launch achievements," he says."I'm pretty happy with the achievements that are in the game.
And as for whether that free update will be the last bit of new content for Beacon Pines —"We tend to focus on finishing the current thing," Meyer says."While we don't have immediate plans for additional content updates, who knows what the future will hold?" We don't yet have a date for when that new content arrives for Beacon Pines, but we'll keep an eye out. In the meantime, what are your thoughts?
