A screening of footage from the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas on Israel is reportedly planned for select celebrities and public figures.
Israeli actress Gal Gadot is facing backlash over reports she is helping to organize a U.S. screening of a film showing the October 7 attack on Israel by Hamas militants.Hamas launched a surprise attack on that day, which was the deadliest Palestinian militant attack on Israel in history. Israel subsequently launched its heaviest-ever airstrikes on Gaza.
According to the AP, the IDF previously held a screening of the film for foreign press last month, during which a number of the viewers broke into tears and even walked out of the theater as the video's content is said to be deeply disturbing as it highlights the increased violence of the attack of hundreds of Israeli civilians.Newsweek has reached out to IDF via email for comment.
