During the opening session of the G20 summit in India, the host country’s prime minister Narendra Modi offered his condolences to those affected by the earthquake, saying the global community is with them and ready to help.

On day one of the summit, the leaders including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reached a consensus on the war in Ukraine calling for peace. But as Touria Izri reports, Ukraine’s foreign ministry is criticizing the declaration because it does not directly mention Russia.
