A Peter Kay fan and councillor has been left devastated after falling victim to a scam which saw £400 spent on tickets to see the comedian from a bogus website that no longer exists.
The comic has provided support to the hospice in the past, from his early career to his re-emergence as the biggest box office draw in comedy history. Speaking to the MEN, Cllr Morgan said: “I’m really disappointed that we have been scammed for Peter Kay tickets for Saturday. As a result of the scam, Cllr Morgan contacted the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool to ensure they were aware of the situation. To assess the situation, the Local Democracy Reporting Service visited the website to check if it was still live.
