Experts are looking at a 'vortex spinning over the North Pole'
Temperatures in Nottingham are expected to cool towards the end of the week as some meteorologists share fears of another 'Beast from the East' this winter. The phenomenon five years ago saw the UK hit with deep snow and blizzards, but some forecasters are saying they would not rule out another big freeze this year.
Sudden stratospheric warmings often precede warm temperatures in Northern Canada and cold, stormy weather throughout Europe and the United States. But the Met Office has dismissed the idea that another Beast from the East is on the way.
