Jack Campbell wanted to be standing in his crease to acknowledge the expected timeout tribute to his Toronto years on Saturday night.
Campbell, 31, will have missed both meetings against the Leafs the past 11 days, dragged down by a career worst .882 save percentage and just 17 wins despite the luxury of the NHL’s No. 1 offence.
“I definitely appreciate all the love have given me in my career here,” said Campbell of his nickname once resounding to the roof after a big save. “I love my teammates and the city.Article content “It’s the same story, when I’ve had a little dip, I’ve been a little too hard on myself.
