If Fraser were to follow in his uncle's footsteps to historical gold , he would become only the eighth Canadian actor to win a competitive acting Oscar incategory, and only the third since 1950. I'm afraid to tell you, Canadians haven't quite been the regular fixtures in the Oscar acting categories one might expect given the sheer volume of us that seem to head south for acting work — at least not recently.
So with our fingers firmly crossed for Fraser to up our numbers this weekend, let's take a quick look back at the 20 Canadian actors that came before him.
